Kiwis have always punched above their weight at recent Olympics Games, and Tokyo has been no exception. New Zealand won 20 medals – their highest ever at any Olympic Games.
New Zealand’s performance was excellent. However we weren’t quite the most successful overall when it comes to all medals (gold, silver and bronze combined), or simply gold medals, per population size. Bermuda and San Marino came out tops there. But thank goodness we did do better than our Australian cousins!
