ZOOM Pharmacy Service Charges Update

New charges will be effective 01 November 2024 - It is important to note that regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipments remain FREE.

We know that cost is a barrier that can negatively impact people taking medicines, that’s why our Monthly Medicines Service is free including free delivery anywhere in New Zealand.

Unfortunately, in recent years ZOOM Pharmacy has continued to face increasing pressure to balance rising operational costs with our mission to provide our timely, high quality and free Monthly Medicines Service.

To ensure the continuity of our free Monthly Medicines Service we have made the decision to introduce three new fees: an Irregular/Off-Cycle Shipment Fee, a Late Payment Fee, and an Expedited Shipment Fee.

To ensure that patients receive their regular medicines on time every month we operate a disciplined planned cycle of regular shipments – Monthly Medicines Service Shipments.

The new fees have been introduced to cover the significant additional administrative, handling, and operational costs associated with picking, packing and shipping medicines outside of our planned cycle of regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipments. It is important to note that regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipments remain FREE.

1. Irregular/Off-Cycle Shipment Fee

Medicines that are not in your regular medicines cycle (i.e. that are not in your current Monthly Medicines Service Shipment) will now have a shipping fee apply. Regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipments for patients using our Monthly Medicines Service remain free.

A shipping fee ($6.50) will be applied to off-cycle medicines orders.*

*This includes prescriptions for long-term and non-long-term medicines (also known as acute medicines) that require a separate delivery which does not fall under your regular medicines cycle, and prescription items with inquiries which could not be resolved before your scheduled dispatch.

2. Late Payment Fee

If a pending payment on an item is at risk of delaying your regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipments, we will hold the item(s) requiring payment and send your regular medicines as normal free of charge.

A handling fee* ($5) and shipping fee ($6.50) will be applied to any item(s) on hold requiring payment if we are instructed by you to ship the items outside your regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipment.

*This handling fee covers the additional resources and time needed to process these changes and ensures that we can continue to provide our proven free Monthly Medicines Service to all our patients.

3. Expedited Shipment Fee

Patients that require their regular medicines to be dispensed outside of their normal cycle can do so for free if they have a valid prescription and provide minimum 5 working days notice.

A handling fee* ($5) and shipping fee ($6.50) will be applied to your expedited order. As noted above a minimum of 5 working days’ notice is required to avoid this fee.

*This handling fee covers the additional resources and time needed to prioritise and process the order outside of the regular Monthly Medicines Service Shipment cycle, ensuring medications are dispensed without disrupting our ability to provide our world class Monthly Medicines Service to all patients.
