Movember NZ – Supporting Men’s Health

Movember NZ is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Men die on average 5 years earlier than women, and for reasons that are largely preventable. Which means that it doesn’t have to be that way.

What can you do to live a healthier, happier and longer life?

Movember NZ recommends these top 5 things to know and do:

1. Spend time with people who make you feel good

Make the time and stay connected with friends, close work colleagues and mates.

2. Talk more

You don’t need to find the solution or answer, just listening and being there can make the difference.

3. Know the numbers

When you turn 50, talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and if you should have a PSA test. If you have a family history do it earlier in your 40’s.

4. Know your testicles

Know what feels normal for your testicles. Check them regularly and see your doctor if something changes or doesn’t seem quite right.

5. Move more

Get more active. Just walking more is great, take the stairs, and parking your car further away are all simple things you can do.
