Dry (non-productive) Cough

There are many different causes of a non-productive cough. A non-productive cough is a dry, often hacking cough that may develop at the end of a cold or after exposure to an irritant that doesn’t produce phlegm or mucus. Treatment for a non-productive (Dry) cough is aimed at preventing the cough from occurring by suppressing the cough reflex.
